Baptist to Baptist

“Organizations Doing More Together” Long before there were state and national Baptist ‘entities’, there was “The Association”. Associations were created by local churches to help member congregations pool and share resources as they strived to reach their communities with the Gospel. The model was so effective that, in time, Associations came together to create State Conventions and, eventually, those Conventions partnered together to form the Southern Baptist Convention. One of the most amazing accomplishments of that whole process is that the churches, Associations and State Conventions were able to maintain their own autonomy. That’s why we use the term ‘affiliates’ to describe the organizations listed here. The local churches are ‘affiliated’ with, and together, control the Association, not the other way around. The Associations are affiliated with and equal to the State Convention which is also ‘controlled’ by the local church. The same is true of the National Convention whose officers, boards of trustees, and ministries are determined by messengers from local congregations from across our land. The Links below will take you to the various websites of our Baptist ‘affiliates’.
